The plant cellulose is dyed with cosmetic grade dyes and then covered with the tiniest amount of aluminium in order to give it it's shine.
The cellulose is then fed through a glitter cutting machine and cut to the desired size and shape. We currently offer six different sizes all in Hexagonal shape.

It is sooo much better! It still has the same reflective properties as traditional glitter and is made with the same precision cutting techniques, however it's not harmful to the environment. This is premium grade cosmetic glitter and we find it actually feels softer and is much more delicate on the skin.
How does it biodegrade?
The time it takes for our Eco Glitter to break down depends on a number of environmental factors. If warm conditions, water and micro- organisms are all present the rate of which is breaks down is much quicker. Eco Glitter can be washed down your drains or added to your home compost as the soil will have all of the above factors present. The maximum time for it to fully breakdown is up to 90 days.
